The development that our main character goes through was so wonderful to watch, she became stronger and an overall better person. The depths of them were so well done and all their quarks, likes and dislike felt so deeply rooted that they felt like very real people. The romance and the drama that played out was so entertaining and the reader flip-flopped between rooting for different characters throughout because these characters were never black or white but completely grey in all their feelings and rationalities. This story felt like it had been told before, but the twists that Moreno-Garcia added here and there really made it her own. Moreno-Garcia did it again she wrote such a compelling story the drew the reader in from page one. Hector hasn’t been truthful with her and himself and so what could have been a fairy tale romance starts to turn into a nightmare. With his help, she is able to hone her skills, but the more her talents bloom, her love for him does too. Trying to hide her telekinesis powers, she meets entertainer, Hector Auvray, who specialises in the same powers. Nina has been given the opportunity to join the ranks thanks to her well-connected cousin, but it has not started well.
